Bangkok, oriental setting
And the city don't know that the city is getting
The creme de la creme of the chess world
In a show with everything but Yul Brynner
Time flies, doesn't seem a minute
Since the Tirolean spa had the chess boys in it
All change, don't you know
That when you play at this level there's no ordinary venue
It's Iceland or the Philippines or Hastings
Or, or this place

One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster
The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free
You'll find a God in every golden cloister
And if you're lucky then the God's a she
I can feel an angel sliding up to me

One town's very like another
When your head's down over your pieces, brother
(It's a drag, it's a bore, it's really such a pity)
(To be looking at the board, not looking at the city)
What d'ya mean
You seen one crowded, polluted, stinking town
(Tea, girls, warm and sweet, sweet)
(Some are set up in the Somerset Maugham suite)
Get Thai'd! You're talking to a tourist
Whose every move's among the purest
I get my kicks above the waistline, sunshine

One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the devil walking next to me

Siam's gonna be the witness
To the ultimate test of cerebral fitness
This grips me more than would
A muddy old river or reclining Buddha
Thank God I'm only watching the game, controlling it
I don't see you guys rating
The kind of mate I'm contemplating
I'd let you watch, I would invite you
But the queens we use would not excite you
So you better go back to your bars, your temples
Your massage parlors

One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster
The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free
You'll find a God in every golden cloister
A little flesh, a little history
I can feel an angel sliding up to me

One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the devil walking next to me

Success comes from many failures.

The biggest failure may precede the greatest success.

Failures or losses are teachers and your roots to grow from.

Success is the fruit of hard training and mastering one's failures.

In other words;

He who never fails never really succeeds.

Cheers.

Bangkok is a good place to go for many things, But beware of AIDS nowadays. And the she-he, he-she or she-she etc.

:D :)

David Jamieson

nope, that was written by the boys from abba and tim rice and performed by Murray Head from the musical:"Chess".

It was a bit of a dance tune in the eighties and by the looks of things, it was playing when Red caught his first case of severe herpes from a she/he down at boston market on thai night.

Well;

I think I am pretty ok. sort of normal.

My teachers in Chan are much more mysterious in their words.

Life is like a maze. We always wonder how a rat or a mouse may solve the maze and find the cheeze. Even though it does not have a bird's eyeview of the maze.

The success is to get to the cheeze or your final destination in life or whatever your goals are.

Anything short of that is considered a failure or not getting there.

So without trial and error or finding your ways around, can we succeed in every turn in the maze of life?

Maybe not, the failures are our experiences in life. We are smarter each time. And we are closer to success in each turn.

Just when we think we are so down and out, we are usually very close to a breakthru.

Always keep of a log, map and bring along a compass.

Yep; my 2 brothers think so, too.

Brother A is very smart. He always comes up with something negative and excuses himself from any endeavor.

Tai Ji is too slow and for old people only.

Shaolin is too fast and too hard. I can get injured too easily.

Fighting with hands. Why? you may use gun or some weapon.

So count me out for any Kung Fu practice.

He would rather study and play Lotto to win a Mil. After over 28 years of playing, he still believes his break will be next ticket.

Brother B is ok. He is very admant about being correct. If Nei Jia is better; why waste time in practicing Wei Jia?

He practices Zhao Bao Tai Ji and Qi Gong. He totally ignored Shaolin and everything else.

They both think me as weird.

I personally have total different persuits from them.

I think to win a Lotto is more rare than getting hit by lightening.

I would put my money away for rainy days.

I practice Chen Tai Ji, mantis and all.

Maybe never use them to fight. It is a work out for me. I would spend time for them.

I think that we need to study both Nei and Wai Jia.

Nei Wai Jian Xio.

Brother B thinks I am wasting time in Wai Jia.

Failure and success are only relative.

Failure is Yin. Success is Yang.

Tai Ji is the dynamic between Yin and Yang.

It all depends on perspective and point of focus.

One thing may be failure for one aspect.

The same thing may be a factor for success in another aspect.

These apply to the story of me and my brothers.

Peace.
