hey all,
just wanted to know what the 4 wude(martial ethics) are. I'm pretty confused as to this, I think Humility and Virtue are two of them (???).
Thanks in advance
PS
Sorry if this topic isn't suited to this forum but I didn't know what forum to put it under

Get it from the Confucian analects. they are in there.
Most of it deals with filial piety, repsecting your elders, not using excessive force, pass fair judgement etc etc. moral excellence etc etc. Morality is culturally relevant though, so keep that in mind.
I am not certain there are any hard and fast rules of martial virtues. There are variatins on the theme found in several writings, but it is generally agreed that the martial virtues sprang from Confucian thought.
The buddhists later introduced:
Build rather than destroy
avoid rather than check
check rather than maim
maim rather than kill
never kill, all life is precious and irreplaceable.
Which is a model for compassion in a martial artist in many senses.
anyway, have at it
