You know how people make rootbeer floats or coke floats? What if you made one with beer. Would it be good?

If you don't know what a rootbeer float is, it's when you take (usually) vanilla ice cream and pour root beer over it. Usually it's served in a big cup or glass but sometimes it's in a bowl. You eat it with a spoon and a straw.

It'd taste like dead ass.

I don't drink, and after a week of eating ice cream with protein mix, I ne'er again want to touch the stuff.

So yeah, I'd definetly say moldy ass.

I have, on occassion made and enjoyed a float from Guinness (or a similar stout) with coffee or vanilla ice cream.

Really.

I assume because you said "enjoyed" that it tasted good?

Good idea with the Guinness. I think if I were to make one, that's the beer I would use.

Correct. It is an unusual, though recommended, libation.

mmm...libations...

 Why the **** would you want to, Iron? Your drink should complement your dessert. Choice something sweet to drink, and eat your ****ing ice cream on the side! :D

Also good - a shot of Mescal in your hot cocoa.

Okay, I'm lying about this one. I do know of some folks (mostly women) who drink a cocktail of scotch and milk, though.

Tell me something I don't know, why doncha?

Actually, since I walk or cycle most everywhere, my legs and butt are firm and slim. It is my 'qi reserve' that is soft and blobby.

Spiced Chai and Hennesey. I call it the Bengali Banger.

Black Cherry Soda, Cranberry Juice, Vodka (in that order, equal parts) makes a Spock Shock. Looks cool before you stir/shake.

Sobe NO FEAR and Gin. Sapphire, of course.

that little concoction will set you straight and let you kick some vodka/red bull martini drinking preppie ass.

"and I'll drink all the Hennesey ya got on your shelf" :D

I feel that sweets and savories don't go well together. Beer goes great with pretzels or a good burger. I don't think it would go well with ice cream.

mmm, i dunno man, Sweetwater Exodus Porter is very good w/ Carnegie Deli Cheesecake.

matter of fact, I've considered creating a reduction of the Exodus and chocolate w/ maybe some raspberry flavoring as a drizzle for the cheesecake.

FD,

that's why you use a sweeter, thicker beer like a stout, or maybe a porter. I sure wouldn't make an icecream float with a Pilsner Urquell or my favorite IPA or anything with a strong hops flavor like that. You wanna feel the malt.

Butter Pecan Ice Cream + a drizzle of Sam Adams Triple Bock.

"Neither a bock nor a tripel, Sam Adams Triple Bock is its own beer style, related to barley wine but taken elsewhere with maple syrup in the brew kettle, champagne yeast for fermentation, and long maturation in charred oak whiskey barrels. Totally uncarbonated and dauntingly full-bodied, Triple Bock has no head and pours like a cream sherry. The color is a deep, tea brown, with a faint tinge of russet when the glass is tilted."

Beerotica.

Ah, true, I guess. I tend to favor the Pilsners and lagers more than the darker beers, which probably shapes my opinion there.
