Ok I'm not use to high reps (yes 10 is high for me) so this was a big deal for me haha.

I squatted 215 for 10 reps today. These are real squats where the ASIS of the hip gets below the knee. I weighed 164 (I think. If this is wrong after I go weigh myself I'll come back and update it).

For Toby:

164lbs = 74.3891487 kilograms
215lbs = 97.5223596 kilograms

I was supposed to do a second set but I pussed out and did two sets of 5 with the same weight.

Then I benched 190 x 10, which was also a new 10RM for me.

190lbs = 86.1825503 kilograms

These weights are all substantially under my 1RMs, but I'm so not used to doing high reps that I am totally excited.

Now I'm enjoying my after-workout meal from Wendy's of two Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers and one 1/4lb doublestack with cheese. Can you tell I like the dollar menu?

High rep training hurts so much worse than low rep powerlifting.

Kewl for you!

Is this a recent change for you, since you're mentioning u're normally a low rep kinda guy. And if so, what was your impetus to change your training?

****, you must be pretty short, Iron. You're pretty muscular to be 164.

1. I wanted a change. I was kinda strong but I had no muscular endurance before. Doing exclusively low rep training kills your endurance after a while due to SAID (specific adaptation to imposed demands). Your body gets used to doing low reps because that's what you make it do, and then when you try to do higher reps, even with much lower weights, your muscles go "nope."

2. I figured I might try to put on some size. Every once in a while I forgot what an ectomorph I am and try to bulk. I get nice pumps at the gym but that's about it. I might gain a couple pounds in a couple months but that's it. I've eaten at Wendy's three times today, btw. That's a new record for me.

3. I had some other reason but I forgot right now. Maybe I just wanted a change or something.

Yeah, but that's not really that bad, Iron. If you look at that Ronnie Coleman morph you posted, it took him twelve years to gain 70 pounds, and that was with steroids. That's just a little over six pounds a year weight gain, yet look at how huge he is. I figure if you're planning on weight training for most of the rest of your life, might as well be happy with a few pounds a year. It's the noobies that seem to blow up overnight, but us old timers've gotta take all the gains we can get.

Iron, you eat like **** :D. Wait until you get a bit older and it might stick around ;).

Congrats on the lift. Last week I was feeling good on my last cycle day and I hadn't done a max for a while so I tried 120kg (264.554715lb). Did it easy @ 83kg (182.983678lb). Too easy. I was kinda ****ed off because I should've gone for 125kg (~275lb) but I figured since I'm lighter I wouldn't be able to do it. Inspired, I tried for 170kg deadlift (374.785846lb). It wasn't budging much, so I wussed out and did 150kg x 5 (330.693393lb), which was easy. Should've split the difference and gone for 350 but I've lightened all my lifts lately while trying to still lose weight.
