The company is wise to "agree" and "conform".

Kung Fu.

And Dragons.

They are not to be mocked.

Shoes worn for sports.

Why not said they are good for basket ball, tennis games, etc.

The shoes give you power to fight and win over Kung Fu and dragons.

Hmmmmm interesting.

I didn't see this earlier but in case anyone wants to see the actual ad:
http://www.nike.com/nikebasketball/usa/?ref=bball_global_home

It's not that bad. I notice they don't complain about the Jim Kelly wannabes and the end when he battles himself.

Oh and the Kung Fu guy? Definitely contemporary WuShu player.

personally I just think the chinese need to be punched and few times to get over it. It's a play on old chinese kungfu flicks, not a slam on the chinese people.

Actually, it's more insulting to think that the chinese government assuems all chinese people do kungfu and so associate themselves with this commercial, or that they're too dumb to tell the difference between picking on them and playing off their cineman, something that's huge in this country.

I thought this thread about sensing the Jin.

Such as push hand, splash hand or sticky hand etc.

I think Hollywood and US companies are all cashing in on the Kung Fu, video games and internet.

Sort of the new commercial strategy for the 21 century.

The movies, DVD sales, video games, toys and associated products.

In this case, shoes, sports wear, basket ball stars, NBA viewing in China, video games, internet on and on all come together.
