The person who has this account has a virus! Do not open any e-mail from this address! I am not sure who it is but my account e-mailed me and told me that this address has a virus!

It can also be that someone else who had that email address in their contacts list was infected, as some viruses will scan your mail program's address/contact info and start sending itself out using those addresses.

Also some will scan mail domains looking for valid email addresses, those that respond to having the email address present when you query them and use those as the "sender" name in the virus email.

And of course, the situation you describe as well.

It is very ugly out there right now with viruses etc.

Just as you should probably not use IE as a browser but switch instead to something like Firefox or Opera on the pc platform. Just too dangerous with the security holes and exploits available to silently infect your machine via Internet Explorer.
