I heard a story on the news a while ago where these people who left the Amish community were talking about how terrible the sexual and physical abuse was within the community.

Of course, there's no excuse for this. However, when people keep to themselves like that, I guess they can tend to misconstrue their teachings and religion - look at the city of corinth before paul straightened them out...
