Picture icon help

How do I get the little picture that everyone has below thier names on posts.

first of all you need to have a jpeg or gif image, of your choice that is no larger than 50 x 50 pixels, the image should be on your computer easily accesable for upload.

next you want to go into "user control panel" it's right under the bold Kung Fu Maggazine logo at the top of this page

and then go into Edit Options

and scroll down to where it says edit avatar (the image thing is called an avatar)

upload the image from your computer and it should be there

I think you may need 10 posts or more to upload an image here.

if the image dimentions are fine and its a jpeg or gif it should work fine

The icon or Avatar assignment section is there at the bottom of the page.

You can use theirs or assign one or upload one. Read it all, there are restrictions.

I must need to have 100 posts or something, at this point I have about 45 and still not "avitar" option you speak of. I will continue to try though. THanks again.

Sorry, now I have a new delima. Where on this internet can I even find the right image type that is the correct size. The only images I can find that are 50 x 50 pixels are bmp. All the other ones are between 100 and several thousand pixels. AERRGGHH.

you could right click and save image file to your computer , whichever one youd like and post the link to it here,

If you want to do it yourself you could open a photo editing program such as corel or adobe and edit the image size / resolution to those dimentions,

or like i said post a link to the pic here and myself or one of us can do it for you

Hmm, this is hard. When I actually happen to find a picture as small as 50 x 50 that i like, it turns out to be a bmp. file and i cannot use it. and i cant figure out how to put a link to the picture in my text, i click the button up there, and it asks for some wierd address or something, Man i pretty much was just going to use the chinese character for Tao as my pic. I have about 15 on my comp and none of them will work. P.S. this is my work comp. only one i have.

quick question, why does it say you registered in 1969? the internet wasnt even around then

the forum went through a major overhaul and many old posts and stuff got deleted way back in 2000. Everybody that was a member prior to that had thier registration date defaulted to 1969. Posters subsequent to that like yourself have a normal registration date.

Or you can ignore all that and consider us the immortal forum Pantheon.
