Did anyone see Napoleon Dynamite? I thought that movie was hilarious, but a lot of people didn't like it.

"There was this one gang that kept trying to get me to join since I'm pretty good with a Bo staff."

That movie cracked me up holmes.

me and suzi just watched it tonight.

i dont know that i could call it a "good" movie, but it was definitely one of a kind in the good kind of way.

i thought it was funny as hell and ill be watching it again at some point.

it somehow brought you back to the most boring times you had in the 90s, with the most enthusiastically dead people you have ever met, in great detail, and it didn't do much else, but it did remain consistently funny for doing so. somehow.

i should ****ing write movie reviews.

It's a funny movie.

Do they have Blockbuster Video stores in Canada? You should go rent it.

Yeah we have Blockbuster in Canada. So it's a comedy? What other movies is it similar to?

Kip (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm1088052/photogallery-ss-0) : Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.
Napoleon Dynamite: Since when, Kip? You have the worst reflexes of all time.
Kip: Try and hit me, Napoleon.
Napoleon Dynamite: What?
Kip: I said come down here and see what happens if you try and hit me. Sounds like e-fist! :D

And remember:
I shall respect Rex.
I shall never misuse Rex Kwon Do.
I shall be a champion of freedom and justice.

That's why it's so cool, it's utterly unique.

i can't believe i didnt like it as much until my second time.

weird thing is someone convinced me to smoke a little ganja before the first time i watched it which i usually dont do anymore. you'd think that would have made it funnier. go figure.

I've caught you a delicious bass.

I figured my hair was making my head hot, so I went to the kitchen and I shaved it all off.

It was wolverines and it was a 12 gauge. Gawd, what did you think it was???

I liked it. It was the first non-product placement, non-hollywood movie I've seen in a while and for that reaons alone I would say rent it.

vote pedro!

I'm Rex, founder of the REX KWAN DO self-defense system!

After ONE WEEK with me in my dojo, you'll be prepared to defend yourself with:

the strength of a GRIZZLY
the reflexes of a PUMA
and the wisdom of a MAN.

At REX KWAN DO, we use the buddy system.
No more flying solo!
You need somebody watching your back AT ALL TIMES.

Second off, you're gonna learn to DISCIPLINE your IMAGE.
You think I got where I am today because I dressed like PETER PAN over here? [points to Napoleon]
Take a look at what I'm wearing, people.
You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing THESE bad boys?
FORGET ABOUT IT.

Last off, my students will learn about SELF RESPECT.
You think anybody thinks I'm a failure because I go home to Starla at night?
FORGET ABOUT IT!

It was great. DVD has a short b/w version that I think was the original pitch for the movie. Here's the wolverine bit:

Don: Hey, Napoleon. What did you do last summer again?
Napoleon Dynamite: I told you! I spent it with my uncle in Alaska hunting wolverines!
Don: Did you shoot any?
Napoleon Dynamite: Yes, like 50 of 'em! They kept trying to attack my cousins, what the heck would you do in a situation like that?
Don: What kind of gun did you use?
Napoleon Dynamite: A freakin' 12-gauge, what do you think?

and of course:
Tina! Come get some ham!

Teacher: Your current event, Napoleon.
Napoleon Dynamite: Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.

Tempted to use that one as my sig.....

That movie really got me thinking about the levels of ghb in the water supply of idaho.

everyone had that stupid glazed look on tehir faces at all times.
It was weird...but eerily true in some aspects.
