This is just too bloody funny...

The $10000 challenge (http://ashidakim.com/10k.html) is Mr Kim's way of getting people to stop challenging his Ninja Skills. He even has the reciepts to prove he is a ninja:

they are probably from here. ;) (http://www.martialartsmart.net/16-01xxs.html)

This will keep me laughing for a while. :p

I know; $25000 appearance bond!

$10000 fee!

Mr. Kim's Rules! Did you read those rules? Five second pinfall - guess Ninjas don't go for extended ground fights. :p

I wonder what he would do if somebody came to his dojo and started causing a disturbance (you know, comes in and starts the sort of smack talk that usually leads to a not-so-friendly challenge match) - would he ask for $10000 before he defended the honour of his school?

"Ashida Kim" is a nutball named Christopher Hunter who began writing Ninja books around the begining of the 1980s Ninja fad in the U.S.

I know a great deal more about him than I could ever wish to know because I was exposing his lies & lunacy as far back as '94. Everything he teaches as "Black Dragon Ninjitsu" is stuff he learned from books & videos, and he claims to have trained with a secret Japanese master who he's forbidden to talk about.

But yes, if you want some outrageous laughs, check his site out. It's truly bizarre.

I am just slightly personally affronted because my Sifu refers to his family style as "Black Dragon Kung Fu". I have never heard him even utter the word "ninja". I don't know if he has heard of Ashida Kim or not but I imagine he would be greatly unimpressed.

I have proven myself to myself many times and I know that the true test is getting up each day to joyfully participate in the sorrow that is one's life. - Ashida Kim

I love this quote. It reminds me of Austin Powers when he says, "Gentlemen, please allow myself to introduce... myself...".

Or the quotes from Mystery Men when "The Sphinx" says things like: "If you fail to control your anger, then your anger will control you.", or "Truly the greatest wisdom is possesed by those who posses the wisdom to be truly great."

I just wanted to let you guys know, I am really Ashida Kim, I was given this niffty ski mask one X-mas day and came up with the whole ninja idea, man, it was fun... of course, over the years my investments in companies selling smoke bombs and spike gloves has netted me a small fortune! I also made defective shoes with detached big toes popular. What you kids will buy is amazing! ninjas! There never was even such a thing! :D

It's funny, when my brother and I started practicing together in the neighbourhood park we originally attracted a small "fan club" of kids who were attending a McDojo down the street. At first they were full of tales of ninjas that their sensei had planted in their still-forming minds. One, having attained the :D :p high :D :p rank of Purple belt decided to attack my brother with a staff one day. Because my brother is slighter than me, people tend to wrongly assume that he is the easier target. ;) My brother very gently disarmed the kid and after that they didn't talk anywhere near as much about "ninjas" around us, they did listen to some of our advice for a small while though. I think they quit their McDojo and never bothered continuing in martial arts. It's kind of sad. :(

"I am the Ninja, himself. I come from the nowhere, I go to the no place. I have no magic power.

yet he is offended that people would make fun of him and question his abilities and his worth. if he is but truly from the nowhere and such.. one who does not have or has shed his personal history to become a warrior such as he wouldnt give a sh!t what anyone thinks or says. he apparently has not shed anything and continually contradicts himself as well as the warriorship he claims to know so well and follow so fervently.

i read the rest of the writings posted and i have to say,,,"What a Riot":D hmm so people actually were willing to pay and adhere to all his requirements and he backed down??????hahahahaha
this should tell all of you alot about how not serious the writings are that this guy posted. it also tells me that this character is only interested in making a buck and if in fact he does teach,i will bet ya a buffalo nickel he downplays his site as not serious and reverses the psychology on people in to thinking that he has a great gimmick and this is how he makes his living.
Hey its America guys,,,live your dream;) :D

PEACE,,TWS

Wow.

Or this one (NOT WORK SAFE) Pic (http://www.dojopress.com/pics/cvr-x-rdl.gif) and Link to "X-rated" book description (no pic) (http://www.dojopress.com/catalogbk14.html).

The thing is, he sucks so bad, but it doens't seem that he's done much recently so there's not much (more than usual) to make fun of. Back in the day when I posted the alternate URL to his old message board that would allow you to post under the "blocked" usernames like "Chris Hunter" and "Ashida Kim," that was fun, but he finally fixed that. Then he got rid of his stupid message board all together and got some new one that is a little better, but seems to take forever to open topics. Maybe people are starting to realize that he sucks. I just try to tell everyone how fake he is so they don't waste their money on his books like I did many years ago before I knew that most of the "ninjutsu" books out there were fake.

If you want ninjutsu, go with Masaaki Hatsumi's or Stephen K. Hayes' old stuff. Stay away from the fakes like Ashida Kim, Frank Dux, that other guy whose name I can't remember, and anyone else who claims to be Koga, or who can't tell you their teacher's name cuz it's too secret. Hatsumi has the freaking Togakure ryu scrolls and is recognized by Japan as being the legitimate grandmaster, altho that could potentially be more politics than authenticity. However, Ashida Kim, on the other hand, claims to come from a dead lineage, has no scrolls, says his master is too secret to tell you his real name, and is a freaking white guy who picked a Japanese first name and a Korean last name and uses Chinese terms in his books. His real name is Christopher Hunter, and his first book was published under that name before he realized he would sell more books if he used a pseudo-Asian name. I would rather learn from Chris Farley's character in "Beverly Hills Ninja" than from Ashida Kim.

KUSARIFUNDO- "Forget even trying to figure out what this does, or how it works. Let's just say they'll be needing dental records to even figure out who you are."

Or how 'bout this one...

HAND CLAWS- "At some point in their life, every single Ninja will go flying up the trunk of a conifer tree and fire an arrow into another man's eye. These are for that."

Becca - is it just me, or shouldn't the "kusarifundo" actually be "makiwara"? Oops, nope, I'm thinking "manriki". Actually, I can call it whatever I want if I'm a ninja with a patch, right?

Either way, I was always under the impression that weapon was to tangle the feet. Although I suppose you could throw it at someone's mouth...I guess.

Anyway, that site is just as or more funny than realultimatepower.com - WHERE NINJAS TOTALLY FLIP OUT AND KILL PEOPLE. SWEET!!

Ashida Kim considers this book to be one of his best efforts to explain Ninjitsu, the only non-violent martial art known to Man

You might as well call it what you want, seeing as how you are not capable of figuring out what "this" does, or how it works.

Having said that... It seems to me that it is used exactly like any other heavy flexable weapon- commonly thrown as well as used up close.

Me? Well, since necessity is the mother of invention, I believe I can figure some way to use it to my advantage.

Nope, nope, nope! The website said you cant' figure it out. Guess you'd better pratice your arrow shooting, instead. You never know when it'll be your turn to shoot someone right through the eye.:p :D

Yeah, I guess you're right, I'll never be as bad@ss as someone who has a ninja website that proves just how bad@ss he is.
