Man wields sword, jumps from condo on 2nd floor

SCOTTSDALE - A man jumped through his window from his second-floor apartment overlooking Camelback Mountain to the ground below, wielding a samurai sword and covered in blood.
He terrified neighbors living beneath him and reportedly claimed he'd murdered four people in the apartment upstairs.
A police search of the Maya Condominiums, 7625 East Camelback Road, just before 1 p.m. Thursday didn't net evidence of the crime. advertisement
But police did not disclose the suspect and his girlfriend's identities Thursday.
The man was treated for minor cuts at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn and both he and his girlfriend are behind bars at Scottsdale City Jail.
"He just tore up the apartment with a crossbow and samurai swords," said Scottsdale Police Sgt. Mark Clark, who admitted the incident was very unusual. "When we got him under control, he started talking about lasers. It was evident he didn't kill anyone."
He did, however, destroy walls, floors and furniture in his condo with the swords.
Clark said police believe the man may have been under the influence of drugs, but officers did not find drugs in the apartment.
The man is being held in city jail for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
