Hi
I was wondering what strategies does the different short hand styles have such as bak mei or southern mantis to close the gap on a hit and run type opponent that has fast long range footwork such as muai thai boxers.

what strategies are there to both iniate an attack as well as to counter attack.

thanks

I wouldn't close the gap.... I would extend it...

At lease on KFO you know you'll always have plenty of fun.

Happy New Year!

Kung Foo Fighter,
With any fighter, the objective is to make them fight your fight, not to fight their fight. If you are short range, you have to get past their guards. It is easier to do so if they overcommit, and you rush them.

Limb destruction is also a good technique.

Close the gap? Attack the weak side and go with the flow.

Defintely short range stylist just need to step forward and intercept and stop the techniques.

Thai boxers know this as well, so be careful.
