I have some folks up in Boston looking to train no B.S.

I know some of you guys are training and fighting so if you don't mind can you drop a few gym names and point men for these guys to check out?

Hey E-fist, aka Ray,

Boston San Shou / Kickboxing is in a rebuilding phase right now, we lost our last gym space and are working on moving to a new location at 1031 Commonwealth Ave. (just past Kenmore Sq/Fenway Park in the B.U. area, next to Eastern Mountain Sports). The new gym will be huge and fully equipted to train serious fighters, as well as offer traditional programs. The head coaches will be SanShou Guru and Marvin Perry (http://www.marvinperry.org) , and Jason Yee (http://jasonyeekungfu.com) will help when he's not out in L.A. working on his movies. We have several other good coaches as well.

For now, Marvin is training twice a week at the Brookline Community Center http://www.bccaonline.com/ teaching very small classes, practically like having private lessons, for $12 per class, a total bargain if anyone wanted to meet and train with him. Classes are Mondays from 6-8pm and fridays from 5:30-6:30pm. We also had access to some temporary training space at a Gold's Gym where we were holding some classes, but they were ****s and booted us out.
Hopefully we can get the new gym off the ground by late spring or summer.

So other than our program, there are some other very good gyms around Boston, both traditional and sport oriented. There are also several boxing gyms. Where in Boston are your friends?

I assume based on your question that your friends are looking for competitive fight-training.
Paul Rosado offers some good kung fu classes in which he teaches CMA in sort of MMA style, and has a class at the same Brookline Community Center. He also has a school in Rosindale, not far from downtown. Some of his people fight competitively and he has had some success fighting MMA from what I understand. http://www.bccaonline.com/catalog/BCCA_2004_Martial_Arts.pdf

There are some big Mauy Thai programs like Sityodtong http://www.sityodtong.com/home.htm and Boston Muay Thai http://www.bostonmuaythai.com/bmta-frame.html and some good BJJ programs too. There are several MMA schools that turn out some good fighters. There are some upcoming competitions that they could attend to see some different local fight gyms. upcoming is http://www.combatzonemma.com/index.shtml in Revere which is part of the Metro Boston area. Another is Mass Destruction http://www.mma.tv/events/index.cfm?ac=EventDetail&EID=965 right downtown.
A big BJJ & MMA school that turns out good fighters is Dragon's Lair in Natick, which is in the Metro West area about 20 minutes west of downtown http://www.dragonlairbjj.com/ or theres' the Boneyard guys http://www.boneyardbjj.tv/ from the south shore about 1/2 hour south of Boston. And theres' Boston BJJ in Watertown thats also in the metro area http://www.bbjiujitsu.com/ , there's Brazilian Martial Arts Center http://www.massmma.com/bmac.htm school closer to downtown in a Brazilian and Portuguese part of the city. They seem like real nice guys.
Your friends can reference a lot of MMA oriented schools at http://www.massmma.com/

I hope your friends find what theyre looking for. You can have them contact me or SanShouGuru if they have any other questions or want more info on Boston Sanshou / Sanda. Have them come see us in a few months, our program is going to be awesome.

note: edited Marvin's class times
