View Full Version : Your favorite MA saying

I used to get taps or knocks on the head.

Yao Yung Wu Mo said the teacher.

I have courage but no tactics or strategy.

I threw punches and kicks hard at my teacher.

I missed them all.

Out of the blue, my head got tapped.

Everytime my centerline is open when I move, here comes the tap.

Tap, tap, and tap.

I got so annoyed and frustrated.

I cried out what.

Yes.

Yao Yung Wu Mo.

This is the biggest taboo of a MA'er.

We win by tactics and strategy and not by bravery alone.

What is your favorite MA saying?

:D

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

Higher conciousness through harder contact.

When my opponent expands, I contract. When my opponent contrats, I expand. When the oppotunity presents, I do not hit. It hits all by itself.

Neo: I know Kung Fu.

Morpheus: Show me!

and many more...

"Some say my teaching is nonsense. Others call it lofty but impractical. To those who have looked inside themselves, this nonsense makes perfect sense, and the loftiness has roots that run deep. I have just three things to teach; simplicity, patience, and compassion. These three are your greatest treasures. Simple in both thoughts and actions, you return to the source. Patient with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are. Compassionate toward yourself, you reconcile all things in the world." - Lao Tzu

A quote from Augustine Fong, in context (Cynical Student's words are paraphrased):

Cynical Student-- "Sifu, what would you do if you had been knocked face-down to a cement floor, and your attacker has his knee dug into your back, all his body weight is on you, with one hand he's tugging your hair and driving your face into the floor, and his other hand is holding a gun that he's pushing into the back of your head? How would you get away?"

Fong-- "Hm... Could be Jesus time."
