There are many MA instructional DVD's out there.

Which one or ones are your favorite?

And why?

In what format?

Explanations of apps or techniques?

How detailed?

In what views?

What would be your ideal MA instructional DVD?

Greetings,

I like these:

The Chin Na Tapes by Yang Jwing Ming

Combat Shuai Chiao by David Lin

Reasons:

For their ability to convey concrete information. These are not "look at me, come learn from me when I am in your town" tapes. They stand well on their own.

Simply for the production values alone:

The Eagle Claw (Lilly Lau) put out by Fire and Rain productions. Fire and Rain productions videos are at a standard that has yet to be surpassed. Martial artists can stand to learn alot about presentation and camera work, which in this case, is simple-- capture all of the action. I went as far as to call these people to tell them how much I liked that way they did things. The Combat Shuai Chiao tapes have a similar look as well.

Many thanks.

Your inputs will alert a lot of teachers out there to produce more good DVD's that students need and could learn from.

I frequented China Town in Las Vegas last week.

I was asked that are there any good DVD and books on Chen Tai Ji?

I said yes there are many.

What would I recommend?

Uh, there are all good. But personally, I like books from Ma Hong (http://www.hsing-i.com/hsing-i_journal/ma.html). He is the student of Chen Fa Ke-> Chen Zhao Kui. But he only has books in Chinese. His books are from study notes directly from Chen Zhao Kui. If you read Chinese, you may go to ""Great Walls book store" or Chang Cheng Shu Dian in any Chinatown.

How about video?

I like Chen Zhen Lei (http://www.plumpub.com/sales/dvd/dvdcoll_TCchen.htm) DVD's. Especially Chen Chang Xing Lao Ji Yi Lu and Er Lu. The DVD has English language and costs about 8 to 12 USD. VCD's are in Chinese only. So ask for DVD for English version.

You may get them in "China King video" Or "Zhong Guo Wang Yin Si" or "Great Walls bookstore" again in any Chinatown.

Chen Zhen Lei studied Chen Tai Ji from Chen Zhao Pi and Chen Zhao Kui for over 20 years.

It is not commercial.

If you are truly Chen Tai Ji fan, you probably would not pass by the books and DVD's I mentioned.

The dude was happy and finally left me alone, while I was browsing Su Bin Bin Fa and some fragmented lost texts or appendices to Su Zi (Tzu) Bin Fa.

And of course, I bought the book later.
