I was posting a rather eloquent reply on MK's he said shi said thread about the roots of Shorinji when he deleted it for some unknown reason. Oh well, all things are impermanent. Anyway, just prior to my post, you mentioned a ninja house in Koga with women in pink ninja suits. Dude, you CAN NOT post something like that with kicking down some pics for us here. Got links?

Yeah, I'm still here. I'm planning to head up there at the end of April during Spring Vacation. I promise to take lots of pictures and, gods willing, buy a pink ninja outfit. Should I begin my screenplay for 'Shaolin VS Ninja II'?

pazman - Sounds great. Now I'll know where to go if I ever get to Japan - the pink ninja palace, the ultraman museum and the ramen museum.

Becca - You know, I've actually seen pink monk robes. Things got really out of hand at Shaolin in the late nineties. There were some really stupid robes being made by the local seamstresses. There were some really fine ones too - in fact I regret not getting a particular style that became popular for a while. But the pink robes were an abomination. I never saw anyone wear the pink robes but I did see a set hanging on display, covered with dust. It was total neon pink too. During my last Shaolin trip (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/ezine/article.php?article=583), I did see some demonstrators clad in pink - shocking pink - for the procession, but it wasn't robes. It was more like underwear. :eek:

i can't tell you how many times in college i had to put this on and stealth my way into my my flatmate's fridge to steal beer. almost had to assassinate him once too bc i thought he had caught me. but luckily i had some smoke bombs and a grapppling hook and did a quick "ninja vanish". hope this makes all of your 'day of the ninja' better. peace.

I'm pretty sure I visited that ninja attraction when I was in Japan back in 1992. It wasn't very built up back then, and consisted of a small village area, some shops, and the ninja house. The house was pretty cool, and for the technology of the time, I could see it befuddling anyone trying to "invade" a ninja's personal space... ;)

When I lived in Japan from 1999 - 2002 I'd intended to visit the new and improved ninja park, but never got around to it... :rolleyes:
