that video was funny. I wouldnt put too much into it though. Their kung fu was very poor.

Their kung fu was not so much poor as it was deluded about the realities of fighting.

true. if i remember correctly the last kung fu guy that went was not too bad, but also left alot of the drunken techs at the door. It was funny how often the karateka's would kick the drunken boxers in the head.

I have seen that video too, the second drunken boxer is better than the first one however the She Quan guy is way better than both of them.

wow,

From what I can tell and my limited experience, its a sad display of kung fu.
kyukoshin guys where patient and waiting for the drunks to get close and act retarded.

the first drunkards foot work pattern was not bad, confusing to follow. The second boozer was just so happy to get kicked in the face.

Of course drunken kung fu would work if trained...different?

Maybe you should take this question to the southern board and ask Troy Dunwood (Sifu) of the 8 Immortals Boxing School. The style is completely based on drunken boxing and therefore I would expect that he would be very knowledgable on the subject.

There is an active thread in the southern board right now "Our New Home" where he has recently introduced his new website. I think if you have serious questions on drunken boxing you might want to check out that avenue.

SC,

No doubt drunken techniques are effective, its just crossing the theory of it over into the practical use catagory that makes the difference. Thats true of any style.

Im not saying there style is bad, just maybe their approach to aplication, maybe.

I know I have a hard time pulling off some motions (theoretical ideas) from sets Ive learned when sparing.

peace

Their kung fu was not so much poor as it was deluded about the realities of fighting.

And like I said in the last thread about this, :) the kyokushin guys seemed like they were holding back alot, the beatings could have been much worse. Those guys are bad examples of chinese kung fu, yet sadly they are indeed valid examples of chinese kung fu .

I find the second fight extremely hilarious. Whenever I need a really good laugh, I tend to watch it. :D

Gawd that was awful.
The Drunken style guys just basically danced...

Where is the bridge/strike to enter/throw?
One peculiar thing is that the Kyoshinkai vids always feature
Kung-fu guys who are woefully inexperienced (the Wing Chun clips)
or have no idea what the hell they are doing (the Drunken clips).

It was pretty funny to watch though. It was like watching a Crocodile vs. a hamster.
I like the Kyoshinkai fighters intent and focus, they let the openings develop and
drilled their opponents with skill.

Amazing. Best to keep your dog chained to the porch if you suck that bad.
