Map of the area, updates (http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/national/2005/03/28/quake050328.html)

Can't they get a break from all this? My God, I hope they'll just lose power or something. No more mass death, please.

I feel the same way. At least now they have some sort of advanced warning. Thanks to the USA actually. They are evacuating all within a 600 k area.

sounds like they just lost power. Not all earthquakes cause tsunamis.

Thats good, I posted this when the news hit. Good thing too, the last thing those poor people need is another tsunami destroying all of the hard work for repairs. Unfortunately dozens of people still died in the quake.

unfortunately it stil took lives but no where near as many as the tsunami.

yeah thats true, but how bad would it suck to have survived the tsunami only to lose your life or worse yet someone you love now.

I thought it was 7 on the scale....
nevertheless, it's almost as high as the one that caused the tsunami. Wich was around 9 I think.
