I'm slated to be interviewed by Houston morning DJ Rod Ryan (http://www.thebuzz.com/rodryan.html) this Monday, April 18. They are supposed to call me at home at 6:35 in the morning, which is 8:35 CST. Oh man, what a way to start the week!

They want do discuss one of my favorite topics - Iron crotch (http://www.ironcrotch.com). You can stream the show from their website, so dial in if you can and let me know if I sound like an idiot that early Monday morning. I don't know anything about Rod Ryan beyond the site - is he going to be honking horns and crap at me that early? We'll be giving away some Feature Master DVDs (http://store.martialartsmart.net/dvdca107.html) for Rod Ryan's boradcast.

I must give props to Rubthebuddha, since it was his fine lead the hooked this up. That was exemplary - above and beyond th call of duty - since wwe really appreciate whenever we can do promotional stuff like this. I say that now, but I probably won't be feeling it on Monday morning...

Iron Crotch huh? I guess I shouldnt be too surprised. So are you going to give a demo over the airwaves? Something like "AAAAHHHHOOHHGODITHURTS"

So is this going to be just on iron crotch or is that going to be the opener "Dear listeners, we have here Gene who will tell us a bit about what it means to have an IRON CROTCH, and some other kung fu stuff."

You know, I was interviewed for Penthouse on Iron Crotch too. It was supposed to come out in April, but I didn't see it. Anyone here read Penthouse?

I's actually been ongoing since I wrote the first article (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=315). We had this huge spike on MartialArtsMart.com (http://www.MartialArtsMart.com) when it was mentioned on some Japanese porn site - I mean HUGE - we only made a few sales off it, but it was great for our web stats. At the risk of sounding like a bad pun, Iron Crotch keeps coming up over and over again... :D

gene -- ain't no thang. i'm pretty sure it started because fark (http://www.fark.com/archives/index.2005-03-27.html) had it on their website (scroll down to friday, march 25). the next day, rod ryan's radio show started blabbing about it.

anyone have a way of recording this streaming stuff? i'll be in the office by the time this hits the air, so i'll miss it. :(

So how'd it go?

It was very short. Rod and his crew were really nice, but Rod is a morning dj and talked pretty fast. I couldn't really keep up. I should have drank some more coffee. Somehow, they got the idea that our website was Tiger Claw (http://www.tigerclaw.com), which is our parent company, of course, but what we really wanted to promote was KungFuMagazine.com. Still, it was fun, and we gave away a few Feature Masters DVDs (http://store.martialartsmart.net/dvdca107.html) which showcases GM Tu's ***** truck pull. They really liked that. It got my week off to a different kind of start...

BTW, I just heard back from Penthouse. I did an interview with them a while ago on Iron Crotch and apparently it ran in the April issue (which is already off stands). They are supposed to be sending me a copy. How come none of you saw that? Ever read the articles between your iron crotch exercises? ;)

...I was sort of expecting some sort of Howard Stern bum-rush of frat boy jokes, but it never came. That might have thrown off my game a bit. They were really nice and seemed genuinely interested. It's just that morning DJs are so perky in the mornings, and I AM NOT PERKY, especially early on Mondays. But it was fun and we're grateful for the airplay and the chance to promote our websites.

My intro and outro music was - you guessed it - everybody was kung fu fighting - man, oh man. They'll make me spin in my grave if they play that at my funeral...

...I'd prefer the Shaolin Temple (http://www.martialartsmart.net/dvd40021.html) theme. Maybe the Shepherdess ballad - something about that whipping lyric... ;)

that can be arranged. it was his favorite song in life, and so it shall be in death. we'll bury you with a cd player on repeat of that one song. and it will turn off when the extra long duracells run out ;). jsut cause we respect ya all that much. :D plus the nacho ninjette's wouldnt want it any other way they tell me ;)

...you can't tell me you don't wince when some one plays that song for your intro and outro... Even if you've never had anyone play you an intro or outro, just imagine what it might be like...

What we need is a batch of new Kungfu related music.

Everybody was Kungfu fighting is getting a bit long in the tooth anyway. :D

...it was rap tho, and that seems to have scared away the over 30 crowd...
