You might see if you can find a copy of the DOK Lee package first. It's interesting. I don't know about Jack Savage's or Al Abidin's material. I will say this though; Jack is much more of a gentleman than the idolators, nuthuggers and self appointed experts who are constantly on his case. He apparently gets off the couch and trains unlike some of his critics.

Egyptian boxing was identical to the Greek method with the exception of the hand wraps. The Egyptians had no thong supporting the wrists or covering the knuckles. That's the unique aspect of it, the way they supposedly struck with un-protected fists.

Here's a pic:

I'm pretty well read when it comes to martial arts but I had never heard of Garrote Larense until a week ago. My point in saying that is that just because someone hasn't heard of something doesn't mean it's not real. Harry Houdini claims to have witnessed bare knuckle boxing in Egypt. If Kuta is really an Egyptian art then it's probably a doctrine based on this. The rest of the history is likely just for marketing kind of like the way that back-hold wrestling was marketed as Greco-Roman. :D :D :D
