Hi,
I'm learning a staff form called (roughly) "San Ji Gun". Does that make sense for a name? If not, what could the real name be? And what does it mean in english?
thx

Hi! Quasar
"San Ji Gun" in english means 3-sectional staff. A staff with 3 sections. Is that what you are learning? If not, it must be another words which you have pronounced wrongly.

Mmm, no, it's a regular staff form..
I find that strange because just before reading your message I had found evidences that 'San Jie Gun' was the correct name. In this page: http://tanglang.lifehome-china.com/tanglang4.html , Kai Uwe Pel says his favorite weapon set is San Jie Gun.
Oh, but maybe the form is in fact called Three-section(nal) staff! Because as opposed to other staff forms where primarily one end of the staff is used, this one makes use of all 3 of them!
