This is inspired by the article "the art of standing still".

In Tai Chi, every posture in the form may be held for a few minutes or more. It is called Jin Gong (practice of stillness).

In Ba Gua, every Single Posture in Palm Change set (Dan Shi Zhuan Zhang 单势转掌may be held for a while, too.

There are always Standing Post Practice or Zhuang Gong 桩功 in almost all the schools or styles.

In Xing Yi, we have the San Ti Shi or posture. When we stand in posture like a post implanted into the ground. It is called the standing practice or Zhan Zhuang 站桩.

Do you Zhan Zhuang in your school of MA?

Stillness is relative. In Tai Chi, each form can be played or held for 8 breaths.
