Anyone know the where abouts of the sifu. Taught me back in the mid 80s. Left town to head to nashville to give country music a try. He was a Special Forces soldier in nam and learned Kung FU and TKD in Korea.

James Cook is still in Nashville, and doing very well. I tell people all the time how much I respect this man. I started in Preying Mantis kung fu under Master Jang Soo Son. He would never let us go to any tournaments, and I would go and watch.

I would stand next to James Cook and follow him around listening to every word he said. Here was this little white kid following him everywhere.

He would come into our school once in a while. He was always very respectful to my teacher and to our school. I studied under one of his students for 2 years. When I walked into his school he was on crutches and I joined the school. He would make comments to me about joining his school when I knew nothing about his skills (because of him being on crutches) and I told him, "I signed up here because I saw James Cook's, picture on your wall".

James Cook, is a great martial artist, and a great man. Anyone in the Nashville area would be wise to find him and start learning from him.

The last email I had for him was an AOL account and my email client kept bumping any email back.

Anyway I have an old black and white film transferr of Jim Cook preforming a sword form around 1971-72, I think it's called Oh Kin Yan Do in Korean at least thats what I've heard Korean Masters call the form. I have it on my pc but not sure where to upload it and in what video format.

If anyone is interested in seeing Master James Cook's video or have any information on the Korean version of Kung Fu that he learned, let me know.

John
