Thanks for the link SPJ

It's funny watching this,

this brings up the question of

do people have thier own flavor of chin-na/ qin-na? or

do you do the technique/s exactly as you are taught by your teacher? enter/circle/sidestep/pass/block/grab/press/lock/punch/kick/flip ect.?

what are some things you do different from your teacher?

do you think It is ok to change/not change, if you do why?

I try to do techniques exactly the same as my teacher...but due to differences in body shape, size, flexibility there will always be small differences....these in time, for example if Iwere ot teach someone and they taught someone and so on and on, would lead to the technique being taught differently. No martial art that is several generations old is the same as when it was founded.

This video clip was posted in Mantis forum.

The last move in the video is a move seen in the Mantis fist.

Qin Na is present in just about all the styles.

Circling or Chan: there are small, mid and large.

The limbs are called branches (of a tree) or Zhi.

Yes, you start with contact and Chan. You may end with strikes (Da or Ti), throw, tripping to fall (Die) or seize (Na).
