I don't know if I would go through what, 10 to 12 surgeries. Just take my arm at that point.

i bet you would feel different if it were happening though dude. no amount of pain is worth losing an arm over. i could understand a foot .... you can do everything you normally would do with a good prostetic, but you can only do so much with a hook.

Wow, that is truly amazing.

I wonder if he will have any complications with his hand and arm as he grows older...When I was in college I got a rather nasty cut on my hand from shards of glass. I have 100% funcitonality in my hand, but I can feel the difference in the two, theres something about the one that just...isnt right. His injury was FAR more serious than mine...

I beleive the venom of the diamondback has compounds of two of the three major classes of toxins, causes necrosis (sp)? in the imediate area and spreads if untreated, and outside of dimensia, hallucinations, asphyxiation, and gang-green (sp) the bites are extremely painful. At least they sent him to some of the best places in the country for his wound.

Holy crap ... $700,000!?!

Imagine if he didn't have insurance?! Or they refused to pay!?

I'm sure they would have just lopped off his arm and called it a day.

have you guys heard the story of the guy that was mountain climbing. He fell into a hole and a boulder landed on his arm. he had to cut it off at the elbow with a swiss army style knife. ouch

Yeah, he's mentioned in this article (http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=real_men) by Maddox.

i think the chief is made of a little harder stuff than that.

plus he'd probably be busy finding another keyboard keyboard or at least taking that one apart.

My friends who do hiking and climbing think that guy was an idiot for going out alone, not telling anyone where he was going and not taking any emergency becon type gear with him.
Lost Oath, it basically shows pictures of a left forearm fasciotomy and closure. You can see far worse at www.trauma.org ;)

My ex-gf was a Physical Therapy major, and her cadaver in cadaver lab had an extra biceps head. I guess it was a mutation or something. Does that make it a "triceps" then?

Thats when his parents would have to accept to pay for everything in full. And after it was all done claim bankruptcy. That would probably be their best option.
