HAHA, got your attention didn't I?? While I would love to discuss the alternative meaning, I am particularly interested in the weapon. I have no clue what it is formally called. I have only seen it on a couple of Southern White Crane sites. Nothing ever in northern systems (why????). My good friend Frank Rivera (Hung Ga specialist) said that their system has it, but it has been lost. Not very common, nor openly taught.
I was wondering if anyone could elaborate on the weapon. Any clips? ETC ETC.

Thanks

The weapon is called chor tau. Personally I've never cared much for this weapon the form in our lineage is quite boring. It is a slower type weapon along the lines of tiger fork.

Good luck to you.

If the opportunity arose I would like to learn it, but I am not on a mission per se! I just thought it was an interesting weapon. I like rare and different ****.

So CLF has the Hoe as well eh? You think the Tiger Fork is boring? I have seen the Hung Ga version and though it was not flashy by any means, saw lots of great apps. I learned the Monks Spade from Rivera Laoshi, and many people have commented that their is not much too it, which I find beautiful! Cut it down to raw basics. One of my favorite weapon sets!

Thanks guys,
Jake

PS Anyone have any clips?

As with many polearms it looks somewhat like staff. I don't know of any clips, but you can get it on video at www.secretsoftheorient.com

Go to Choy Li Fut, and look on the weapons sets list.

In Mandarin pinyin, it's called chu tou. If memory serves, Ha Say Fu Hung Gar has a hoe form.
