What is Dit Da Jow?

What exactly is Dit Da Jow? Ive always been interested in TCM, ( not a practicioner) but i enjoy reading about it. Also, does anyone know what TCM, if any, is typically taught in Wing Chun?

Dit da in general refers to the branch of Chinese medicine that deals with 'bruise/hit' injuries, such as those commonly obtained in martial practice. Dit da jow refers specifically to a 'wine' (or other alcoholic base) that has specific herbs that have been soaking in the wine for several months to years. This yields a very effective bruise and injury liniment. Some 'jows' are for iron body practice, others for joint and bone injuries, while others still are used just for dispersing bruises and minor injuries. Please note dit da jow is almost invariably NOT used when the skin is broken (cut, rash, etc), as some of the herbs are poisonous if taken internally.
