Hey everyone-

I had my first and hopefully many more to come good sparring session with a new training partner last night. This guy was 6'7 and weighed 315, a monster. He also boxed in the military and had some Muay Thai experience, as well as being a bouncer and having experience with that. I'm 6'4 myself, but only about 190. However, I was able to make many things work against him. First, I found out you have to be extremely mobile, as someone with that size and power coming at you with committed attacks will just crash through your defense if you stay put. I found staying light on my feet, I was able to get a lot of good strikes in(particularly longer range ones like finger/side palms/chops). Elbows and knees in the clinch were a lot more difficult, and I could only finish with those as he could just over power me with strength if I got in too close. Takedowns were very tough as well, as this guy knew how to sprawl and actually moved very well for his size.

So, just thought I'd relate my experience to everyone.

Peace-
