Since the dejanews archive is back online, I Refer you to cranes post at:

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=baji+stomp*&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&rnum=1&ic=1&selm=01bc3480%24316397c0%24f54f78cb%40Singnet.sing net.com.sg

I'm puzzled about some of the terminology/description. I e-mailed crane a long time ago about it and he says "I am not in a position to teach you." Why post a goldarn message then, doing exactly that?

Anyways....

"...Standing in a cat-stance, using all your strength leap foward as far as possible,
landing in a horse stance with a strike..."

Landing in a horse stance with a strike?

"When you land, with your front foot always
stomp heavily on the ground to generate power+leverage. All techinques in
Baji includes stompping."

What foot is in front when you land in a horse stance? This doesnt make sense to me. Any foot in front doesnt sound like a horse riding stance i've ever seen.

It makes sense the other way around. Stand in a horse stance and leap forward landing in a cat stance (stamp/stomp) the catted foot....

King of like a beng chuan on steroids without the slide/drag step.

Basics like this are oft ignored or forgotted in martial arts. At 'advanced' levels, you dont see the leap/stomp per se, because the power is "hidden". Because, at least as it should be, the movement(s) are condensed.

I've never seen any leaping in Baji.

I agree with Brad, I have never seen any leaping in Baji. The term cat stance is not used in baji. Also from that discription, I am not able to picture that technique he speaks of.
