My names Seb and I am trying to put together a project. The aims of
this project are to provide a world wide community for all
practitioners of wing chun kuen.

I have registered the domain name www.wingchunkuen.net to build a
large online wing chun community, resource centre and schools
database. I have only been training 8 months and everyday my personal
interest grows, however my level of knowledge is still somewhat beginner.

For this reason I need people to provide the majority of the content
for this site. I am looking for columnists and reviewers to write
about their experiences in wing chun. I need someone, or a group of
people to write a detailed section "What is Wing Chun"

I have produced a set of forums to be the hub of the community.
Sections for dedicated Wing Chun discussion, and also sections for
free chat. Please feel free to sign up and post your thoughts at
www.wing*****uen.net/boards .

I have created a "School Listing" system. The aim of this is to
compile a database of schools all over the world so that people
interested in starting wing chun, or just visiting a school can find
one easily. There will be very few schools in the listing initially,
but as with everything, it has to start somewhere. If you are an
instructor then feel free to take advantage of some free advertising
and take part in our database.

I would be very interest to hear of any other ideas.

If you would be interested in contributing then please send me an
email to seb@wingchunkuen.net

Seb,

You may have noticed that there are quite a few sites that aim to do exactly what you are, including Planet Wing Chun, and WingChunkuen.com (whose ten year existence probably required you to register WingChunKuen.net rather than .com).

A number of people who frequent this forum have already contributed to those sites. Many regard the webmasters of those sites as friends.

There is a huge amount of information (and misinformation) on WC on the web already.

Not wanting to belittle your worthy aspirations, but you are trying to set up something that other people have had up and running for a long time.

You might want to consider looking for a different angle, and offer something unique, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel (and a rather large wheel at that).

Good luck.

I hope this does not sound cynical (as I am asking sincerely), but what is it that you hope to improve upon? The web design, format, logistics? -Or is it that you find the content and opinions on the other sites in disagreement with your ideas & beliefs about wing chun? (And if it *is* a matter of disagreement with your beliefs, how will you know that you are the one who is "correct", and they are the one who is "incorrect"?)

What is your mission with regards to your project?
