We did pretty well today.
It was a well attended tournament with most every division having at least 5 competitors.
Big congratulations to Ming Yue for placing first out of five in the Seniors Empty Hand with Bung Bu.
Two of my other girls placed 1st out of 6 in Two Person Empty Hand.
As usual, no other women fighters and they wouldn't let me place the above two women with the intermediate men. So they didn't get to spar.
My Advanced 15 year old only had one guy to fight but beat him pretty solidly. He also took 3rd in his forms division.
My Beginner 12 year got handled by some 15 year olds. Poor kid. He was the youngest in the group of 12-15 year olds and just couldn't hang. He sucked it up and took his losses pretty well. He did get 3 fights in though.
My Intermediate adult male lost his first sparring match and for some reason they only did single elimination even though they did double with the kids.
My Beginner 16 year old got 3rd in his forms division.
a decent amount of hardware came home with us :D
oh, the two women who won the 2 person were intermediate and competed wtih the Intermediate male in the Adult Intermediate which had either 13 or 15 competitors. The scored in the lower middle half of a very tough field.
Wong's from DC was down here again and they have some tremendous talent placing 1st I think in every division they entered.
They also did the best Lion Dance I've ever seen live.
