Question about Australian Tiger/Crane school

Can someone please possibly tell me if this school teaches actual Hung gar or Some weird Tiger/crane style, because I know some schools focus ONLY on Tiger/crane set and not do taming the tiger ect.

The website doesnt have any linage details or actual ciriculum so I cant really tell of the site alone, I know the school has been going for many many years though, and its an Australian kung fu/wushu assosiation accredited school as well.

Any details about what they actually teach would be greatly apreciated.

The school seems to practice Gongliquan, translated on the site as "Power Fist." The teacher has pictures of himself doing sections of it.

Also, the "five animal hand formations" seem to be from Ng Ying Kuen. I think it's pretty much generic Hung Gar.

So there are schools in Australia that practice only the Tiger Crane Form? Interesting...How would the training regimen be like?

Yes Id just like to confirm

that is More Hung gar then Lo Fu Do The only person who i know of that does both Tong Long Kune an Lo Fu Do, is my Sifu, Sifu alistar Bourne, He Has Integrated both styles, an has named it Ch'i Kune Jow Do

that is what i have been studying for the past 5 years,, to my general knowledge, Sifue bourne is the only person that i know of that has learnt Lo Fu Do

there where a couple of guys asking about chi kune jow do
on the Southern Praying Mantis Forums a little while back.

check it out im sure they would be interested in learning more about chi kune jow do, Sifu alistar Bourne, his teacher and early chow gar tong long days in NZ etc....

pretty quiet but people are lurking bewteen training hehe

as for the topic... it teaches Hung Gar... the name of the school is called "Australian Tiger & Crane Kung Fu" and he often calls it "tiger & crane kung fu" maybe cos most people , at least in the early years would of had no idea what is "hung ga"

from memory *i think* it affiliated or is connected to the canadian hung kuen association.

Hung Kuen can sometimes be referred to as Tiger/Crane or simply as Nan Sil Lum Fu Hok or some other derivation that indicates it is a hung branch of southern shaolin kungfu.

Only those schools that are connected to big lineage holders such as Tang, Lam or Chiu or sub strata of those use the name "Hung Gar" proper it seems where others use Hung Kuen or simply tiger / crane or even more simply southern shaolin.


It's a big style and has many iterations and ties throughout it's long history.
