funny - he should go to the papers and tell them that then. They'd pay a lot of money to show Derren as a fraud - especially given what he says in every show "no stooges or actors"

Alternatively you could put it down to exceptional ability with hypnosis - hint, the sound of his breath was a hypnotic trigger, because, like, Derren doesn't pretend he can do anything except hypnosis, psychological manipulation and trickery. He doesnt use stooges or actors - there are plenty of people who can do the things he does, just not with the same finesse or showmanship.
