  title, i do not want the southern stylists to steal my idea.
Like it or not, many of you partially rely on TCMA to help pay the bills.

So i propose a 5 year plan, (stalinesque dont you think?)

Step one, A well respected ,level headed, high level master (or two)that is elected by the members sits as chairperson of a Northern Chinese Martial Arts Coalition.

The coalition has one goal, the proliferation of CMA with honesty and dedication.
The coalition sets and assists any major schools with periperals for tourneys as well as possibly offering awards for the schools that support the causes the most.

The Coalition holds title fights across the Northern styles to culminate in one type of tournament fight that has agreeable rules both within the laws of the US and the flavors of the different styles. The coalition Holds Fighter titles for all weight classes etc.

In order to avoid conflict the coalition does not regulate ranking or lineage disputes these are left to the major schools themselves. However, it as a coalition can impose sanctions in the form of boycott etc to organizations that do not settle disputes or at least so not make attempts to.

The goal Gentlemen is to put the clamps down on the profit in martial arts going to the other non Chinese styles due to their overt commercialism. If we Combine
we can actively each chip in toward a greater advertising fund that the coalition will handle.

It can make agreements as a large entity with companies that produce this advertising and drive our overall costs down (leaving more money to invest in our schools. In fact, people like me that possess certain equipment for recording and the others out there with expertise such as one of my Gung Fu Brothers and The Gentlemen from NY Wu Tang have the ability to build such media already.

Also, this well help the schools in other ways, the skys the limit for example the coalition can beconme its own insurance agency and offer coverage to TCMA.
It can help distribute medals or have them made in large numbers (driving the price down).

There is no reason we shouldnt be connected. This is not blatant commercialism it is the way large corporations diversify and become successful.

Think about it guys. I will help any way i can, I generally serve the think tank best but will serve the masters in other ways needed to see something like this through. If im not mistaken we have many Lawyer friends including an individual that posts here.

AS FAR AS THE SOUTHERN THING it is just a tuant to try to get them to look and maybe join us either in the same coalition or as a second branch of government.

Sounds no different from judo organizations. You may want to look at the usji for a model to follow.

Since there are two forms of organizing governing bodies 1, Top down== some individuals create an organizations that they promote to others and thereby impose acceptance of an original idea, or

2, grass roots from the bottom up, individuals pettion each other openly and agree from the onset to raise a chairpersons from within by popular choice.

I am speaking of the second type of organization, not that i think the first is wrong, its just not what i think optimum for all. Heres why,

the second one does not call for initial fee for membership you petition to join and are part of it. And from that day forward everyone pays the same dues all the time.

Also this lowers dues dramatically because==== they only paid individuals in the firm are a nominal fee to chairperson (who is changed automatically by election after one term) legal fees which might be donated in the form of free legal service or at least some free, and the secretary. The rest of dues are put into a large treasury that is watched by a panel of non paid elected individuals.

If you guys are thinking something like this then you have a chance of getting it to work. I will jump on board as i will promote as many others as i can as well.

I am only speaking from a political, historical, and academic perspective. however i am sure i can show through research many top down failures if i am asked.

I just say this because many people work toward this goal but nothing is completed. a petition sent out in the first step, commits the organization into existence.

My motive behind this thread, and i hope you all wont let it die, is to point out that disputes and division are terrible for the overall health of the Chinese Martial arts economy. The longer something like this is put off the more the economy suffers at least in the west and i would argue globally.
I dont want to lead the thing i just want to be in it. i just want to know its DONE.
