This (http://www.varmouries.com/wildrose/fiore/fiore.html) is a translation of the oldest extant European martial arts manual. It's worth a gander.

wow! right in the intro!

"Since it is difficult to keep in one's mind this complicated art without written books, and since there will never be a good scholar without books, how can one become a good teacher? I have seen a thousand people calling themselves masters, of which perhaps four were good scholars, and of those four scholars not one would be a good teacher."

600 years later and this hasn'ty changed. hahahaha, now that's funny!

interesting short illustrated texts are always fun.

Now, the drawings in many cases leave something to be desired, and some of the tactics are a bit genetlemanly in scope but overall it's a neat little text.

There's a few things in it I would take an alternate approach on. Some of teh info on sword is old standard very basic principles. Good to see.

It's funny seeing the parralels with arguments still on the go today.

Makes me wonder.....lol
