15 years ago, the blue belts at the Gracie's would have beaten just about everybody at the Inosanto academy.

This was posted on the Wing Chun forum...

Any opinions?

Of course they would being all half naked and stinking like a gym locker ;)

Seriously though, it's the stylist not the style. Inosanto is one of those stylists so no I don't think it would go very easy for them at all.

Nakamura (shootfighting) showed up at the Inosanto academy around '92, Larry Hartsell has always been around. Machados maybe 10 years ago. So the general ground fighting ability of the students THEN was no-where near a bjj school or the Inosanto academy of today.

saying blue-belts seems extreme, but probably true.

so what? thats 15 years ago at a place few of us have even visited or trained at.

Probably true. Not so anymore. BJJ is really starting to slide in fight training sense as well.

15 years ago, grappling/groundfighting was pretty much non-existant at the Inosanto academy.

Much different these days... Dan holds a black belt in BJJ.

15 years ago I was training Shoot Wrestling Catchascatcan and submison at the Inasonto Academy. BJJ blue belts in America then were almost non exsitant. They would have however had a hard time with the boys from IAMA and IMB
