WTF? You can have heat without flame, but you can't have flame without heat. Therefore, heat is greater than flame.

WTF? You can have heat without flame, but you can't have flame without heat. Therefore, heat is greater than flame.

Diffusion flames produced by cold gases contain no heat as convection is not present.

At the heat of the moment, people will say or type things they regreted later.

emotions, anger, frustration, feeling "threatened", etc. it is responsive and an outburst of emotion. and does not mean anything.

Flame however, it is intended with a clear mind and not emotional. it adds to the fire.

flamers ALWAYS get heated first before they flame.

i say heat.

I never meant to be so bad to you
One thing I said that I would never do
One look from you and I would fall from grace
And that would wipe this smile right from my face

Do you remember when we used to dance
And incidence arose from circumstance
One thing lead to another we were young
And we would scream together songs unsung

It was the heat of the moment
Telling me what your heart meant
Heat of the moment shone in your eyes

And now you find yourself in 82
The disco hotspots hold no charm for you
You can’t concern yourself with bigger things
You catch the pearl and ride the dragon’s wings

It was the heat of the moment
Telling me what your heart meant
Heat of the moment shone in your eyes

And when your looks are gone and you’re alone
How many nights you sit beside the phone
What were the things you wanted for yourself
Teenage ambition you remember well

It was the heat of the moment
Telling me what your heart meant
Heat of the moment shone in your eyes

It was the heat of the moment
Telling me what your heart meant
Heat of the moment shone in your eyes

Africa was sung by Toto

Oso

Chris, are you well? running a temp? any abdominal pain?

Toto...Asia...is there really a difference?

we might as well toss in the Alan Parsons Project while we are at it...

you know what I hate? I hate that I was listening to my parents music at the end of the 70's and somehow missed punk and thought New Wave was cool.

I think I'll go kill myself now....

punk > heat > flame.

Punk is and always has been the ultimate expression of freedom from boundaries and oppression and freedom to drink until collapsing in your own vomit and therefore beats everything else. The ultimate base meaning of humanity.

I may teach speechwriting in the Japanese government, but my Union Jack underpants tell you I will ALWAYS be punk :D

Mr Punch

Did I mention both Toto and Asia were on the bottom of Punk's boots until Punk flicked them off into the putrid smoking remains of Alan Parson's corpse?

what's also sad is that, at 38, I look like a poser.

there's a local band called Crank County Daredevils. good for a bunch of local boys. I started going to their shows in the summer two years ago and so, there I was in the middle of all the black boots...in my sandals and river shorts.

so, I just keep my windows rolled up and people can guess what I'm listening to.

{sigh}

ok, you're a Lost One.

I'll pour a little of my next Tasgall out on the ground in your memory.

some things are best just left to the K-Tel compilations that resurrect this crap.

I'm gonna subscribe around the clock listening to "Maxwell Murder".

The bass solo is unbelievable.

I can send you an mp3 if necessary.

WHAT! I can't believe a fellow child of the eighties never listened to or liked ASIA. I can't believe I'm loosing street cred for an album I bought 24 years ago. I would have posted some Van Halen or Billy Idol lyrics but they didn't have any relevent songs to the poll topic. :D

Oso

I never said I didn't listen to them but I never did really like them at all.

I'll even admit to an embarrassing skeleton: I liked and still like Adam Ant.

But, there is a time when you need to move forward and let some things lie in their justly dug graves.

bad 80's music is one of them.

Asia should have been beheaded, a stake drove through it's heart and it's mouth stuffed w/ wolvesbane.

Actually, I think that's what happened to them.

I went to a Night Ranger concert in the 80's.

I'm proud to say that the only two concerts I went to in the 80's were The Police and Pink Floyd...although there were sans Waters at the time.

Chief Fox

One of the best concerts I've ever been to was a U2 concert in the 80's. Bruce Springsteen was there and played a few songs with them. It was pretty cool. I also went to an INXS concert in the 80's.
