Three Harmonies

• I visited Antwerp Belgium while I was in Europe, and met one of the highest level teachers I have had the privilege to touch hands with. Mike Martello Laoshi (www.wutang.be & www.babutanglang.com ) is a disciple of Wang Jie Laoshi of Taipei Taiwan. Wang was an early disciple of Wei Xiao Tang, Taiwan’s infamous Babu Tanglang (Eight Step Mantis Boxing) teacher. Martello Laoshi has tremendous strength and speed, and generates power like no one I have ever seen!
I am happy to announce Mike Martello's ONLY US visit for 2006, here in beautiful New Mexico. Hope to see you there! :D

Mike Martello Laoshi – Instructor
Mike Martello grew up in NYC boxing and fighting, and fell in love with the Chinese martial and healing arts at an early age. Today, 30 years later, he is still studying, teaching, analyzing, and learning from the world’s most respected teachers. He brings a multi-dimensional perspective to the teaching of the martial and healing arts, and is known for thoroughly explaining the combat, as well as health, aspects of the ji ben gong or basics!
Specializing in Babu Tanglang (Eight Step Praying Mantis), Shuai Chiao, Chin Na, and White Crane under Wang Jie Laoshi of Taiwan, Mikes understanding of the applications are second to none. Mike spent many years with the legendary Wutang teacher Su Yu Chang Laoshi learning Baji, Taiji, Bagua, Northern Mantis (Meihua, Liuhe, Babu, Qi Xing), weapons, as well as qigong and some Chinese medicine. Mike’s attitude is the same as teacher Wang’s; “I am now, and forever a student of the martial arts.”
Mike has won every major Chinese Martial Arts tournament in North America finally retiring with well over 200 gold medals. He no longer competes, spending his time and energy teaching and studying the subtleties of the beautiful Chinese arts in Antwerp Belgium.
This will be Martello Laoshi’s ONLY stop in North America so register early before spaces fill up! For more info on Mike Martello, clips, and historical information please visit both www.babutanglang.com as well as www.wutang.be

You are invited to join us for a weekend intensive study with one of the most respected Chinese martial arts instructors in Europe, on his only stop in North America for 2006. Mike Martello will bring together over 30 years of experience to teach two great seminars here in beautiful New Mexico! These seminars are open to all levels, and are geared towards those interested in both the martial, as well as the healing aspects of Chinese culture.

5 TREASURES & 12 MERIDIAN QIGONG:
Though well known within Qigong circles, the 5 Treasure and 12 Meridian Qigong sets are rarely taught in open seminars. The 5 Treasure Qigong will warm up the student and set the foundation for breathing and stretching. Then we dive right into the 12 Meridian Qigong set that is of interest not only to martial artists, but acupuncturists, energy healers, and Yoga instructors as well. The 12 Meridians Qigong set is hundreds of years old, and has been used to purge and cleanse the 12 major meridians of your body in order to tonify the corresponding organs. Each meridian is associated with an internal organ, and the balance of these organs is key to optimal health and longevity.
Anyone, of any age and physical ability can (and should) participate in this wonderful hands on seminar. No prior experience or knowledge is required. All the basics you need to know will be taught within this intensive workshop.
What you can expect from diligent practice of the Qigong sets:
• More energy and stamina
• Improved balance and strength
• Stronger immune system
• Increased sex drive
• Loss of weight
• Stress relief and management

MANTIS FIGHTING THEORY AND APPLICATION:

Renowned for his speed, power, and sensitivity skills, Martello Laoshi is offering this intensive workshop on the deeper aspects of our training in the martial arts. Using Mantis as the base art, we will learn basic Pai Da and Kao Da (various conditioning exercises, combined with qigong and dynamic tension theories) training both solo and with a partner. Using these ideologies as a foundation we will then explore the multitude of applications from the Si Ji of Ti / Da / Shuai / Na (four attack methods of kicking, striking, throwing, and locking). The principles and applications will be explained in great detail.
Though Mike will draw from traditional Mantis training these theories and techniques can be found in any and all martial arts from Karate to Tae Kwon Do! Again no experience is necessary to join this wonderful opportunity to better your martial abilities.
(Pai Da sticks are included in the tuition of the first 20 students to pre-register!)

What you will learn:
• Importance of Ting jin (sensitivity) in combat
• Safe conditioning exercises for solo or partner practice
• Explore and analyze the ji ben gong (basics) of martial practice
• A multitude of applications incorporating all areas of combat
• Hidden applications to forms

Just wanted to drop a note saying thanks to all those that attended Mikes seminar for a great week! Thanks to the board members from Ft. Worth and Louisiana who traveled far for the opportunity to train with one of the best.
For all those always crying on this board about how Mantis is hard to use in real time fighting, or with gloves on, you guys should really start coming out and supporting what some of us are doing. For those who have touched hands with Martello Laoshi..... well, you know what I am talking about ;) !

Thanks again. Hope to see you at the next one!
Jake :)
