what the heck was the first one suppose to be? I mean the jeet kune do? What were they doing? Looks fast but it's no contact. Maybe I'm missing something. Could someone please explain this to me. Thanks!!

I think the monk part is a little bit wacko. Other than that it's entertianing and basically showed JKD in a nutshell IMHO.

The clip has many facets of the JKD shown. It's based on ALIVENESS in everything they do. First, it was the footwork by the 2 Russians(?). Then it went onto the focus mits drill which is quite fluid. The trapping and takedown (their so-called trapping range) is interesting. I find their kicking drill a bit too fancy but that just my take. Certianly a good cardio workout if nothing else. I believe they made a fuss with the trapping hand drills with the gloves on and leading right into the various takedowns and finishes is a bit over kill for me. But they are properly very proud of it. I believe they want to make the point that trapping is a viable "range" event with gloved combative sports. So... It's fun to see how they put things together. I would say it's way more entertaining then seeing 10 solo forms in a row. Overall, I think they did a good job in conveying their JKD ideal that's big on the kicking range, punching range, trapping range, etc. No weapon or ground range was presented which is a shame. Anyway, nice job. Thanks for sharing the link.
