One of the greatest MOVIES ever.
I bought a 10 pack of MA this weekend. It was called fists of fire swords of fury.
I ws hoping to get maybee one good movie on this(I had heard Shaolin vs. manchu was pretty good), but I have already found 2 good movies on 1 double sided disc.
The first one I watched was Kungfu For Sale, ended up being very watchable. I'm just not a big fan of movies where they go cut happy and always fail to make their stars look better.
The second was said it was called lightining kungfu, so I looked it up and IMDB says it it called the victim, it said it had Sammo and Beardy and was good, so I was excited to watch. What I got was a movie called Killer Constable with chen kwan tai(baddie from crippled avengers, star of iron monkey). I acually have this movie poster in my apartment, and just bought it cause it is easily the coolest movie poster I have ever seen. I have been looking for this movie forever and here it just falls in my lap.
The cover art doesn't even do this movie justice. It is about a constable who is ordered to recover 1000 taels and catch the five robbers. I don't want to give anything away that happens in this movie, so I will only tell you that the constable played by chen kwan tai in this movie is my new favorite character in any movie. The guy is heroic as hell but--ahh I almost gave something away. If anyone else has seen this, back me up and post saying its good but don't give nothin away. Don't expect to see some crazy kungfu movie, expect to see a great drama with a lot of really cool sword fights. The end of this movie left me breathless and it took me a great while to recover from this. it is a must experience. This movie also has Ku feng and Jason Pai pao in it. Freaking sweet.
By the way this 10-disc set has the loudest out of ALL my dvd's. It has really rich 5.1 sound, and it's not the same exact sound coming through every speaker. The sound quality is stock, so you won't get the richness you did from Hero but the I thought my sub was gonna blow up and the overall sound of these dvd's is just outrageously loud.:)
