Friday the 19th, 6pm-9pm
“Exploring the Fighting Theories and Applications of the Animals”
In Xing Yi one does not mimic the animal itself, but rather the fighting attitude or energy of that given animal. In this first of a series of seminars Tim will lead us through the underlying principles of the first two to three animals and their applications in throwing, striking, and locking. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO KNOW XING YI OR THE ANIMALS TO BENEFIT FROM THIS SEMINAR! Tim will NOT be teaching any of the actual animal forms! These teachings will transfer easily into whatever your base art may be.
Saturday the 20th, 12-4pm
Sunday the 21st, 11-3pm
“Shen Wu Stand Up Grappling and Counters”
This special seminar is a preview of Tim’s current DVD project on stand up grappling and counter grappling. Tim has taken the most common holds and grappling techniques found on the street and unlocked the fundamental principles both of the actual technique, as well as the counter to that given technique. This is NOT a ground grappling, or BJJ seminar, but rather a workshop on how to survive the stand up grappling situations you will face in a real life situation.
You will learn the principles and basics of how to effectively apply, and counter these techniques:
• Head locks
• Body locks
• Chokes
• Bear Hugs
• Single & Double Leg takedowns
• Tackles
• Attempted body throws and takedowns
• And many more……………….
This seminar (like all of ours) is open to all levels and stylists. If you are seriously interested in bettering your martial abilities whether it is for the ring, or for your forms practice, you should not miss this opportunity to learn from one of the best in world. Instructors should especially be interested in the way Tim articulates the fundamental principles of body movement and usage.
