Western for Eastern?

So I've decided to go to school for my R.Ac and will be relocating in the next year. My question is, Would taking some western medicine courses now benefit me when I start?

Depends on the school where you will be learning acupuncture at.

Where I trained, Western Sciences (Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, Intergrated Practice) were also taught along side the TCM. So in my case, there was no need to learn extra on the Western Science, except for certain areas that interest me where I am specialising within a TCM framework.

Congrats on your decision! I had the same questions when I decided to go to TCM school. However, I would research how the West. med classes are taught - if taught by the school, you may be better off taking anatomy/physio, micro, etc at the community college. THis will save you quite a bit of money and usually the classes are better designed, with more time spent in well-equipped labs. Furthermore, some TCM schools won't accept credit for "outside" classes taken AFTER your enrollment (otherwise they'll lose money:rolleyes: ), so make sure you do it BEFORE you apply.

Just my 2 cents worth. BTW, what is the "R" in R.Ac. ?
