What's the characteristics of Wu style Taichi?
Is it more aggressive than Yang style, just like Chen style? Or really soft?
I'm a teenager, should I learn Wu style or Yang style?(Not regarding how good the teacher is).
Thanks

I guess since nobody else has answered you here I should have stab at it. Wu style is definitely more like Yang style (which figures, seeing as Wu style is basically an offshoot of Yang Banhou's tai chi) than Chen style. However, that said, I think you are judging them too much on their forms; Chen, Yang, Wu, Hao, no one style is more 'aggressive' than the other, it is just that the Yangs, Wus, etc.. have all taken the fajing out of their standard forms to make it easier for the masses to practice it. They all have a fast set with fajing in it, called things like Changquan (long boxing), Kuaiquan (fast boxing) or zhannianquan (stick-adhere boxing) in the case of Hao style. Saying that, though, we had an intensive with my sifu yesterday, in which he told us of the occasion when he asked Wu Tah Sin what Wu Jianquan was like in pushing hands. Apparently, all Wu Tah Sin said was "Soft. As if there was nothing there.". I have to admit that there seem to be more martially-oriented teachers of Chen style than in the other styles. Basically, the answer to your last question is: Wu style, Yang style, both are just as good; find the best teacher you can (preferably a disciple), and work your ass off! :) Bear in mind I am a rank beginner in Wu style though (barely 4 months). If you want to find out more about Wu style, there's a guy over on www.dragonslist.com (http://www.dragonslist.com) called Nik who you might try asking. Good luck finding a good teacher! :
