Anybody ever try hiring training partners?

So I'm having a problem which is that I can't find a school that will let me practice what I want to practice, not what they want to push down my throat.

Has anybody ever tried hiring training partners? Are there any schools that let you hire some of their black belts to play with on an hourly basis or something?

See, that's the problem. Everybody figures it's either forms or fighting. Or if they have partner forms, everybody just does their partner forms.

But nobody seems to want to have cross-martial arts applications practice that's not just sparring.
