Hello!

It is well known that Chao Jung Dao learned his Taiji Quan from Wang, Yongfu in Bejing during the early part of the century prior to opeing the Gentile art of Taiji Ruler society. I am assuming that is when the Chao family began to develop their versions of the internal arts (Taiji, Hsing I & Bagua). What is not well known is what the familie's style consisted of prior to that.

We know the Taiji Ruler has been there since the Song dynasty. What state was the Tai Tzu Chang Chuan in prior to the introduction of Wang Yongfu's Taiji Quan?

Does your family still do the ancient Tai Tzu? or has is been put aside for the Taiji your family developed out of Wang Yongfu's teachings?

Prior to Wang Yongfu's influance, did you do Tai Tzu Chang Chuan only? Or did your family also do the Tai Tzu Hong Chuan? How does the Monkey Boxing, Six Step boxing, and the Southern Tai Tzu Quan fit into your familie's art?

What does your family consider the original Tai Tzu Chang Chuan of the Emperor? Was it a complete system consisting of multiple forms, or was it just the orginal32 move form only?

Also, The original 32 posture form obvioulsy has 32 main postures, but since each posture can have many moves connecting the two, and each posture may also be repeted more than once, how many movements did the original 32 posture form have?

Your help is greatly apreciated!

Gian.
