Is there any TCM for athletes foot?

Athlete's foot is a fungal infection - in TCM, it would appear likely that damp excess conditions would predispose one to infection, however, environment plays a huge role.

While there are numerous herbs that kill parasites and fungi, one product in particular comes to mind called "Yin Care". It has been recently marketed here in the states and is probably available at your local Chin. herb doctor. This formula is usually for issues involving the 'anterior and posterior yin' (aka the genitals and anus), but my teachers say this formula is good for all damp conditions of the skin.

Otherwise, if you don't want the ususal miconazole preparations, you could brew a strong tea of usnea (song lo) to soak your feet. Tea tree oil helps, but can really burn the feet.

Good luck and keep those feet dry!

To keep your feet dry you can also use cypress essential oil (25 drops in 100 ml of liquid paraffin). Reduce the drops if your feet get burned. You should only use 100% pure essential oil. In europe the best is "Jean Velnet". It works very well with me.
