There's loads of schools teaching Hung Gar in England. There's George Ho in Liverpool, Jim Ulgow in Essex, Jeff Hasbrouck on Bristol.....

Great! Its just difficult for me as I am not in the UK . So I am relying on what publications and web links I can get.

Do you have a link for Master Ho.. ?

I would like a Chinese speaking Master.....

Have to ask. Why do you feel the need to have a Chinese speaking master?
Are you Chinese yourself?

I can certainly assure you that Jim Uglow is one of the most reknowned Hung Gar Sifu's in authority that is currently teaching Hung Gar openly in the UK. The other guys mentioned I've persoanlly haven't heard of... So I can not make any comments!

Jim's lineage is direct from the late Sifu Chan Hon Chung (Hong Kong).
I'm sure if any of Jim's students visit this site they will confirm this.

All the best

I concurr with BakMei here SiFu Jim Uglow of all the mentioned SiFu's on the board is probably the best you will find in the UK.

His lineage is without question as are his skills, and if chinese speaking is what you really must have, then that is no problem as Jim speaks Chinese quite well !

Great!

I asked about the Chinese speaking as sometimes it's a bonus.. some concepts are difficult to explain in english.

Coolness! Any other recommendations. ... ?

I watched the vids ( posted above ) and was a bit disappointed :(

How about Master Ang?

I also saw a website with a Master in Liverpool.. though the site doesn't really tell you who is teaching or show is running the show..

comments anyone?

master Ang is manchester based.

i train under one of his most senior black belts in london. If there is anything you want to know I will do my best to answer.

Ps. That hung kuen leeds video is definitly not a good example of how we practice in london although he is from our style.:o

Great!

Can you advise who your instructor is and what rank is he under your system.

Additionally, is he always teaching every class.

* What is the first form that you learn in your school ?
* Do you train bridging hands
* Do you do any Chin Woo/ Ching Wu routines
* How often are classes ?

Thanks!
