August 5-6 two day seminar with Grandmaster Liu Baomin.

A truly unique opportunity.
Learn one of the oldest forms of Praying Mantis boxing from one of the oldest representatives of the Taiji Tanglang tradition.

72 year-old Grandmaster Liu Baomin is a seventh generation disciple of the Taiji Tanglang Quan tradition and a kungfu brother of Grandmaster Wang Yuanqian (1934-2002).

Liu Baomin is the oldest surviving disciple of Grandmaster Wang Yushan (1892-1976).

Liu Baomin started his Chinese boxing training in 1947 under the famous Qingdao teacher of Tanglang Quan and Taizu Quan, Grandmaster Zhang Facai (Zhang was Wang Songting's kungfu brother and a disciple of Ji Zhongde).

In 1950 Liu Baomin began his training with Wang Yushan and indeed learned the complete system of Taiji Tanglang.

From 1957 until 1961 Liu Baomin helped Wang Yushan teach Taiji Tanglang Quan.

Since 1993 he has served as chairman of the Qingdao City Praying Mantis Research Association.

This is Grandmaster Liu Baomin's second visit to the US during which he agreed to teach a Tanglang Quan seminar on the first section of Eight Elbows form called Bazhou.

Bazhou is one of the oldest, greater Meihua Tanglang tradition forms.

It is a unique opportunity to see one of the remaining representatives of the oldest generation of Taiji Tanglang Grandmasters. You will gain in-depth insight into the old school of Taiji Tanglang.

The seminar will be a two day event, held in our Mantis Kungfu Academy in Hamden Connecticut on August 5th and 6th. During these two days for eight full hours you would receive a personal instruction from 72 year old Grandmaster Liu Baomin.

Cost is $200 for two days and $150 for one until August 1st. $250 at the door. Space is limited.
