Kenpo's full name is Shorinji Kenpo(kempo),
This is just what the japanese call Shaolinsi Chuanfa. (shaolin style fist boxing)
In other words like in american you say potatoe and the irish say spuds, Or you say car and the greeks call it an autokinito.
The japanese call it shorinji kempo and the chinese shaolinsi chuanfa.
The reason is a few decades/centuries ago a japanese guy learnt shaolin and took it back to his country...

Now however its been *******ised just like most traditional martial arrts....
