Marines may not get to practice enough to be the most skilled martial arts, but when they do practice, they practice hard. Because of their limited training schedule they train more for aggression than finesses.

Being highly athletic compared to the rest of the population, makes them ideal students. No to mention, they HAVE to be there, to train.

Don't run off and join the Marines because you want to practice the martial arts though. The Marine Corps does what it wants, not what you want. In three years I haven't been able to get any MCMAP training past the initial basic training and I've wanted it.

I recognize a lot of that from when I was in basic in the Army.

aww thats just "recreational activities":D These guys carry fully automatic weapons REMEMBER??? ALSO they have air support and ground to air support to blow the cr@p out of something before they go in to it. ill bet these marines RARELY EVER have to go hand to hand with anyone(unless it is a raid on a house in which case they are more likely to have the barrel trained at your head and if you dont comply, its over).

This should be in the street fighting forum.

We just hired a former combat veteran marine. He was talking about MCMAP and I thought it sounded cool. He says that the black belts are something to watch.

What are your thoughts about MCMAP training?
